'Anti-Thigh Gap' Jeans Are Now A Thing

Muscular thighs rejoice! Barbell Apparel has rejected the latest thigh gap trend and is now creating jeans catered to sculpted butts and thighs of all sizes.

‘Anti-Thigh Gap’ jeans are designed by a group of athletic men and women from Nevada. This team spends 20 hours a week being active, participating in sports such as mountain biking, snowboarding, rock climbing, and more. For them, the invention of their denim brand was a necessity for their way of life.

“We were tired of struggling with jeans that didn’t fit, weren’t comfortable, and completely restricted our ability to move,” the founders said. “So we decided to fix it.”

The Barbell team began their venture by taking the measurements of their athletic friends, family, and even random strangers! They then used the measurements to determine average sizes and hip-to-thigh ratios to design their jeans.

Co-founder Hunter Molzen told ABC News, “These are the anti-thigh gap jeans. Athletes work hard for their strong, meaty thighs and they should be proud of them. It's how human beings were built to function.”

Molzen went on to explain that the jeans are neither baggy pants nor jeggings, although they do contain a bit of spandex. Instead, they’re designed to accommodate any body type.

The company states, “Our hybrid denim stretches both ways so that it can complement smaller legs, while still easily stretching to accommodate larger legs as well.” As a result, the jeans are a perfect balance of comfort, function, and style.

Since Barbell Apparel announced its denim philosophy, it’s created a positive buzz and garnered huge support among jean shoppers everywhere. After just 47 minutes, the company’s Kickstarter page reached its set goal of $15,000. Now, with just 31 days left in their funding campaign, the company has exceeded $300,000 and has an impressive 2,330 backers.

With this much support, Barbell Apparel has announced its plans to release designs to accommodate “ripped abs and shredded pecs” as well. But until then, our thighs can rest easy knowing this apparel company has our athletic needs in mind!
