This Majestic Mansion Just Can't Sell

A Mississauga mansion that's fit for the one per cent can't seem to find its way off the market.

The majestic home located at 2290 Saxony Ct. is going to a second auction after a winning $6.2-million bid for the home (less than it cost to build) in January fell apart after the buyer couldn't secure financing, reported The Toronto Star.

It had previously been listed for $11 million.

"Saxony Manor" is a 23-room, 18,000-sq.-ft., four-story home with an eight-car garage, wine cellar and games room.

The bidder, who has not been named, apparently has money tied up in overseas banks, and could lose $100,000 in deposits if someone else bids successfully at the next auction, The Star reported.

Also going on the block is a ritzy nearby property at 2346 Doulton Dr. It's a 9,000-square-foot home that has charms such as an Italian "Boffi" kitchen, a rooftop deck, custom floor-to-ceiling windows and a 31-foot-by-20-foot soundproof theatre.

The home is listed on the Multiple Listing Service for $1 and has sat there unsold for eight months. It was originally priced at $5.998 million, according to a website featuring the property.

Ritchies is holding an auction for both homes at Oakridge Public School in Mississauga on April 27 at 2 p.m.
