21 Most Offensive Music Videos Ever (NSFW, Obvs)

Canada's angst queen Avril Lavigne is being called out for offending Japanese culture in her new music video "Hello Kitty."

Critics say that Lavigne's video is guilty of racism by fetishizing the Japanese, mocking their accents, using expressionless Japanese dancers to represent the people and making an overall tacky parody of the culture.

But Lavigne, who is LOLing off the accusations, isn't by any stretch the first musician to be accused of releasing an offensive video.

Controversial music videos known for offending people have been produced since pretty much the invention of music videos and span all genres. Here's a look at the 21 most offensive music videos of all time, ranging from provocateurs like Madonna and Marilyn Manson to 90s alt icons like Nirvana and No Doubt to rappers like Nelly and Nas.

Keep in in mind, they were chosen because they offended people, but your personal mileage may vary on some of these. Except not number one. We should all be on the same page on that one. And Avril should probably be emailing it to critics in her own defense.
