Jake Krahn Guilty Of Taber Tim Hortons Smash-Up

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. - A jury has found an Alberta man guilty of driving a stolen truck into the back of his own pickup, which then smashed through a Tim Hortons.

Jake Krahn, who is 31, was convicted Monday of stolen property, impaired driving, dangerous driving, public mischief and uttering threats in court in Lethbridge, Alta.

The Taber man stole an oilfield vacuum truck and drove it into the back of his own pickup that his brother had just parked outside the Tim Hortons in Taber.

The force of the impact sent Krahn's own pickup through the southeast corner of the restaurant.

No one was injured but the building sustained extensive damage and was closed for several months.

Sentencing submissions are expected Tuesday.
