Alberta's summer weather prediction is a reason to rejoice.

After what seemed like a particularly long and harsh winter, AccuWeather is predicting a warmer and drier summer than usual for wild rose country in 2014.

AccuWeather says Alberta might see more thunderstorms than usual in June, but the overall jet stream pattern points to above-average temperatures over the summer.

However, warns the weather agency, the warm weather could bring with it reduced rainfall and an uptick in Pine Beetle infestation, which could raise the risk of wildfires in Alberta and B.C.
