It's hard to imagine anyone assaulting Jay Z, but TMZ has just obtained surveillance footage from a hotel elevator that shows Beyonce's sister Solange Knowles physically attacking her brother-in-law.
TMZ reports that the ferocious altercation occurred at a Met Gala after party in NYC's Standard Hotel in NYC. As you can see in the video, Jay Z, Beyonce and Solange all enter the elevator, when something sets Solange off. Though there is no sound, it appears that she begins yelling at Jay, before swinging her fists and kicking at him. Solange is held back by a bodyguard, presumably, but does connect with a few blows.
Beyonce doesn't get involved in the altercation -- which is kept private when a member of their security team presses the emergency stop button -- and leaves with her sister while Jay departs in another car.
There is no word on what caused the fight.
Solange is Beyonce's younger sister, and also a singer. She has written songs for Bey and Destiny's Child and released her last album, "True," in 2012.
