Langley Bus Attack: Woman Allegedly Attacks Kids, Threatens Mom

Woman Allegedly Attacks Mom, Kicks 2-Year-Old

A Surrey woman has been arrested for allegedly threatening a mother with a knife and attacking her three children after a fight on a bus.

The woman got into a fight with a bus driver in Langley Tuesday morning over the fare, said RCMP. She was swearing, so the mother, as well as other passengers, asked her to stop.

The suspect threatened to kill the mother and her kids, then threw a drink at her baby boy, according to police. An eyewitness took video of the two women who began to fight each other. They were eventually told to get off the bus.

The suspect followed the mother and her children and produced a knife. She knocked over the woman's four-year-old daughter, and kicked her two-year-old daughter in the back, said police.

A Surrey RCMP officer recognized the 43-year-old suspect's description and arrested her at her home. Police are recommending various charges of assault, assault with a weapon, and uttering threats.

UPDATE - Aug. 19, 2014: Leah Susan MacKay has pleaded guilty to one count of uttering threats and one count of breach of an undertaking, reported Global News. She was sentenced to two years of probation and also given credit for 150 days of jail time, said the outlet.
