If your film is getting panned by critics, you can cry and hide in your mom's basement or you can do what Ryan Gosling did: hit up the red carpet in a sexy suit.
The Canadian actor, who presented his directorial debut "Lost River" at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday to almost unanimous bad reviews, ignored the critics and presented his best face at the film's gala premiere.
Wearing a dapper Gucci tuxedo with wide lapels, a white shirt and Gucci shoes, the "Drive" star looked strikingly handsome, especially when he gave a heartbreaking smile, which totally reminded us of his "The Notebook" days.
Earlier in the day, the 33-year-old attended a "Lost River" photocall with co-star Christina Hendricks and wore simple but effective blue button-up and brown slacks.
Missing from Gosling's arm was girlfriend and "Lost River" star Eva Mendes, who has so far not made an appearance at the festival.
Even solo, Ryan is still one to watch on the red carpet.
