Tyler Norrie, University of Waterloo hockey player, dies suddenly

University of Waterloo student and hockey player Tyler Norrie died suddenly Tuesday in Simcoe, Ont. a town roughly 150 km southwest of Toronto. 

He was working out at a local gym in his hometown when he collapsed and could not be revived by paramedics, according to the university. 

There is no known cause of death at this time. 

Norrie, 22, was a rookie with the university's Waterloo Warriors and had just completed his first year of study in the geography and environment program, according to at release from the university.

A funeral for Norrie will be held Saturday in Simcoe. His family is requesting donations in his memory be made to Camp Trillium Rainbow Lake in nearby Waterford.
