In yet another apparent incidence of domestic violence in B.C.,  Mission RCMP say a 70-year-old man allegedly shot his 69-year-old wife in the "lower posterior" with a shotgun Saturday night.

The pair have been married 50 years according to police.

Police say the call came in around 9:30 p.m. PT as a woman yelling for help.  When officers arrived they found the woman in her driveway being tended to by neighbours.

The man was still inside the house and RCMP say the Emergency Response Team was called in.

Mission RCMP Staff Sergeant Rob Dixon says eventually the man came out with his shotgun pointed at the ground, stumbled and then fell.

RCMP arrested him without incident. They say he appeared to be drunk.

He's scheduled to make a court appearance on Monday.
