2 road crew workers struck by car in Alliston

Two workers on a road crew in Alliston were sent to hospital overnight after they were struck by a car while working.

The OPP says a man and woman were painting lines on the road just before 3 a.m. when they were hit.

Police say the man was airlifted to a Toronto hospital with serious injuries.

The woman's injuries are not serious. Police found the car they believe was involved. They've arrested one man.

Victoria Street between King and Paris in Alliston — located about an hour north of Toronto — remains closed while police investigate.
