Actor Jet Li says he's been haunted by memories of the late singer and actress while shooting his latest movie "Rogue" in Vancouver, Canada, where he also filmed "Romeo Must Die" with Aaliyah, a news report said Sunday, May 21, 2006. "I have some memories of this very beautiful city ... but it still makes me think about Aaliyah because I feel still we worked together here for a few months," Li was quoted as saying on the movie news Web site Ign.com. Last week it was confirmed that Aaliyah will be the subject of a new Lifetime movie.

The late singer, who died in a 2001 plane crash at the age of 22, was known for her cool dance moves, iconic songs ("Are You That Somebody?" was everything back in the day) and, of course, her unique tomboy style.

While many female singers of her generation were clad in mini skirts, bikini tops and platform shoes (ahem, Spice Girls), the R&B star was rocking oversized jackets, hoodies, bandanas, baggy pants that slid down her waist, Timbaland boots and Tommy Hilfiger overalls.

It was her iconic and fashion-forward style that influenced the likes of modern tastemakers such as Rihanna, Rita Ora and even Drake.

So, to honour the late singer, we take a look at Aaliyah's best tomboy looks. Rest in peace, baby girl.
