Madonna Wears A Niqāb Because It's 'That Kind Of Day'

Madonna Isn't Sorry For Wearing Religious Garb

Madonna is known for pushing boundaries when it comes to fashion but her latest outfit might be taking it a bit too far. (And she's not sorry about it, either.)

Since joining Instagram, the Material Girl has posted controversial looks from showing off her armpit hair while wearing lingerie to posing practically nude with white bindings wrapped around her body.

On Tuesday, the 55-year-old songstress posted an Instagram snap of herself wearing a black niqāb with the caption: "Its that kind of day! #unapologeticbitch."

We're not exactly sure what Madge means by this statement. Was she just trying to be controversial? If so, we think it's in poor taste to make light of a cultural and religious garment that represents a woman's choice to be faithful to her religion or alternatively the symbol of the oppression of women.

This isn't the first time the "Frozen" singer has played around with cultural appropriation. From dressing up as a Japanese geisha in her "Nothing Really Matters" music video to sporting an Indian saree at the VH1 Fashion Awards, the blond has had no problem using different cultures for fashion inspiration.

So, what do you think of her latest fashion statement? Do you find it offensive?
