'Downton Abbey' Ladies Cover Harper's Bazaar UK In Gorgeous Gowns (PHOTOS)

'Downton Abbey' Goes High Fashion

"Downton Abbey" has gone high fashion!

For the August 2014 issue of Harper's Bazaar UK, nine of the show's ladies sat down for photographer Alexi Lubomirski for a gorgeous photo shoot.

Shot at Viscount Gage's ancestral home in Sussex, the actresses wear the latest looks from the best designers in the world including Chanel, Valentino, Erdem, Calvin Klein and Kate Middleton fave, Jenny Packham. (How fitting that a Duchess-approved designer made the cut!)

On the newsstand cover, Michelle Dockery, who plays Lady Mary Crawley in the show, wears a sheer silk and feather Valentino gown. The magazine also released a special subscribers edition, which features Dockery, her on-screen sister Laura Carmichael (Lady Edith Crawley) and Lily James (Lady Rose MacClare), all sporting lace Valentino dresses.

For the inside photo spread, the "downstairs" women are also represented, including Phyllis Logan (Mrs. Hughes), Sophie McShera (Daisy), Lesley Nicol (Mrs. Patmore) and Joanne Froggatt (Anna), who ditch their servants' clothes for chic couture.

One actress who we think is sorely missing from the mag is the Dowager Countess of Grantham a.k.a. Maggie Smith, who is arguably the series' most beloved character.

"Downton Abbey" Season 5 debuts on Jan. 4, 2015 on Masterpiece and PBS.
