If you, like us, love reading while you're on vacation, London just gave you the best excuse to visit: the city now has 50 benches in the shape of open books.
With iconic covers and characters on full display for the public's enjoyment, the "Books About Town" initiative is being carried out by the National Literacy Trust. The organization is trying to promote British literature and raise literacy levels — as well as encourage citizens and visitors to try to see the benches this summer.
Mind you, not all of the featured books come from the great British canon, and they're not ashamed to show those off either. The Dr. Seuss bench, for example, celebrates the author's many characters (and notes that The Cat in the Hat was actually responsible for increased literacy in children).
The benches will be auctioned off in October, with all proceeds going to raise literacy levels of underprivileged and young people across the U.K.
