Just a day after saying that he expected his Brazilian teammates to fulfil his dream of becoming a World Cup champion, injured star Neymar is thanking his fans for their support after he was ruled out of the tournament.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, prior to Brazil's semifinal match against Germany, he said that fans' messages have made the days less painful since he took a knee to the back from Colombia's Juan Zuniga in last Friday's quarter-final.

Neymar's message, translated from Portuguese:

I have no way to thank you all for caring and for thousands of supporting messages I've been receiving since Friday.

I wish I even knew more languages so I could thank everyone of you.

I have kept up with (or tried to) everything that has come out ... These messages have made these past few days less painful.

Today I'll watch Brazil's match against Germany outside of the field. I'll be one among 200 million fans and I know how important our support is to those guys inside the field!

That's why I wanted to thank you all who have sent me positive vibes and I'd like to ask you to support along with me til the very last second, for I want it so much to be inside the field next Sunday, along with fans and teammates.

In God we trust!

The forward was not far from his teammates' thoughts as they took to the pitch on Tuesday. They held up Neymar's jersey as they sang the national anthem before the game.
