Calgary Condo Breaks MLS Record For Most Expensive Sale (PHOTOS)

The sale of a penthouse unit in a popular Calgary neighbourhood has eclipsed a three year old MLS real estate record.

The sprawling, 3,200-square-foot condo in Princeton Hall in Eau Claire sold for $4.4 million last Friday, according to Mike Fotiou's Calgary Real Estate Review.

The sale of the two-storey, two bedroom, three bathroom condo breaks the previous record MLS condo sale record of a $4.1 million in the same area.

Record Breaking Calgary Condo

According to at least one real estate expert, Eau Claire is a hot market as luxury properties are in high demand.

“The luxury resale condo market of penthouses specifically in Eau Claire is set to take off being that there are very few buildings with penthouse suites available period in this area,” Rachelle Starnes, a realtor with Royal LePage Foothills, told the Calgary Herald.

Included in the condo is a high-speed elevator, three parking spaces, and a 2,000-square foot outdoor terrace that features panoramic views of the city.

Currently the highest price ever fetched for a condo in Calgary was $8.99 million for a 5,600-square-foot condo that sold for in the spring of 2012.
