Spadina and Dundas will be under construction for two months

Two major intersections on Queen Street East have been shut down this summer for TTC repairs. Now it's the west end's turn. The intersection of Spadina Avenue and Dundas Street will be closed for TTC track replacement work.

Construction starts on Monday, July 14, for the track work, but it will still be open to traffic. The intersection closes in full from July 28 to August 11. Work continues until August 30 but the intersection will remain open.

This comes after Queen Street East and Broadview Avenue was closed for weeks and Queen Street East and Victoria Avenue was shut down directly after that.

For the west side work, eastbound traffic on Dundas Street approaching Spadina Avenue will be detoured at Bathurst Street, while westbound traffic on Dundas Street approaching Spadina Avenue will be detoured at University Avenue.

Northbound traffic on Spadina Avenue approaching Dundas Street will be detoured at Queen Street. Southbound traffic on Spadina Avenue approaching Dundas Street will be detoured at College Street.

The TTC closed down several major intersections for similar work in summers' past.
