CALGARY - Alberta Liberal Kent Hehr is making a pitch to go federal.

Hehr, who is the MLA for Calgary Buffalo, announced today he will run for the federal Liberal nomination in the riding of Calgary-Centre.

The riding is currently held by Conservative Joan Crockatt.

Hehr, who is 44, becomes the second member of the five-person Alberta Liberal caucus to seek new employment.

Darshan Kang has already been nominated to run for the federal Liberals in Calgary-Skyview.

The news comes on top of new fundraising numbers for 2013 showing the Liberals trailing in fourth place.
