You may have been peeling bananas wrong your whole life, but there's no reason you shouldn't add them to your diet whenever you can.

Mostly known as a breakfast food, bananas can be used to make anything from warm bread to crunchy chips. And who can forget banana and ______ (enter your favourite fruit here) smoothies? One banana has about 89 calories, 358 mg of potassium, 20 per cent of your daily intake of vitamin B-6 and 14 per cent of your daily intake of vitamin C.

Studies have shown bananas can prevent breast cancer and treat diarrhea. But the fruit also has several unusual uses, including acting as a remedy for itchy scalps and treating acne prone skin.
