Narinder Kaur Kalsi dies after being taken off life support

The victim of an alleged domestic assault, Narinder Kaur Kalsi, has died, after her family agreed to have her taken off life support on Sunday afternoon, police have confirmed.

Kalsi was rushed to hospital in critical condition after she was found in severe medical distress at her family home in South Surrey on July 13.

Her husband, Baldev Singh Kalsi, 66, is being held in custody and is facing attempted murder charges.

Last week police confirmed he was attacked by another inmate at the pretrial facilities in Surrey on Tuesday.

He was president of the Brookside Sikh Temple in Surrey at the time of his arrest, but has since been removed from that position.
