Toronto Bus Runs Red Light, Nearly Hits Pedestrian (VIDEO)

Toronto Bus Has A Close Call After Running A Red

The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is probing an incident involving a bus after a video showed it running a red light and nearly hitting a woman on Monday.

The incident occurred at Ionview Road and Eglinton Avenue in Scarborough at around 9:15 a.m., according to a description accompanying a YouTube video. A dashcam showed a bus driving right through a red and swerving just as a pedestrian crossed Ionview Road.

"Clearly, based on the viewing of this video, there was an opportunity for that bus to stop," TTC spokesman Brad Ross told CityNews.

"Given that the pedestrian stepped off the curb and the bus had to swerve to avoid that pedestrian, that is concerning and that is why we need to review this."
