Man left young daughters alone in hot car in Vaughan, police say

An Ottawa man has been charged after his two young daughters were allegedly left by themselves in a hot car in Vaughan yesterday.

York Regional Police received a call at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, regarding a passerby who found two girls sitting in a vehicle in a shopping plaza parking lot on Highway 27, north of Highway 7.

The passerby had brought the three- and six-year-old girls into a fitness centre and then called police.

The children were assessed by paramedics.

Their 35-year-old father has been charged with leaving a child unattended under the Child and Family Services Act.
