CF-18 struck by lightning forced to land in Whitecourt, Alta.

A CF-18 hit by lightning was forced to make an emergency landing in Whitecourt, Alta.

The pilot was able to land safely without injury. The plane had no visible damage, airport manager Will Stewart said, adding that the pilot "felt a bit of a tingle" when the lightning hit his plane.

The plane was struck while it was on its way to Whitecourt for the Hometown Heroes Airshow scheduled to take place this weekend.
