Explore #461 - November 30th She was born in Ireland and was originally thought to be a labrador/collie cross - but our dog trainer thinks she is a 'Heinz 57 Varieties' with some Lurcher and Staffie thrown in! Whatever she is, she is adorable! She is now three and a half years old and as full of fun and energy as ever! Oh yes, she can also run like the wind and her trainer says she's the fastest dog he's ever seen except for a greyhound! EDMONTON - A charge of animal cruelty has been laid after a distressed dog was found locked in a parked vehicle on a hot day in Edmonton.

The outside temperature was 28 C when the panting collie-cross was discovered Monday afternoon at a location on the city's west side.

The dog was rescued by firefighters, then taken to a veterinarian for treatment of thermal distress.

The animal was later reported to be responding well to emergency care.

It's not known how long the canine had been locked up before it was rescued.

The cruelty charge has been laid against the dog's owner.
