'Racist' Joan Rivers Calls Out Bieber's Fashion Sense

Joan Rivers's sharp-tongued criticism of Justin Bieber's fashion sense did not go over well with a member of the Village People.

The comedian appeared on "Fashion Police" last Friday and laid into the "Baby" singer's ensemble, which paired a bright, multicoloured sweatshirt with leather pants, a gold chain, brimmed hat and aviators.

"Someone needs to sit him down and say you are not a big black thug," she said. "You are just like your shoes, ordinary and completely white."

Co-hosts Giuliana Rancic, Kelly Osbourne and George Kotsiopoulos all laughed at the remark, as did the audience.

But Victor Willis, original lead vocalist with the group behind "YMCA" and "Macho Man," did not like it.

The singer posted a link to the remark on his Facebook page and said it's "time to shut her down."

This is certainly not the first time that Rivers has faced controversy over her jokes.

Last year, the Anti-Defamation League criticized her for referencing the Holocaust while mocking the dress that Heidi Klum wore to the Oscars, CNN reported. Rivers did not apologize.

Also last year, she unleashed a tirade against Italians, Jews, African-Americans and homosexuals while defending Alec Baldwin over the actor's alleged anti-gay slur to a paparazzo.
