Cyclist Bruce Rickman hit-and-run: RCMP identify truck

Coquitlam RCMP have identified the make and model of the truck that hit cyclist Bruce Rickman as he was biking home from work on the Mary Hill Bypass July 20.

Police are looking for a 2007 or 2008 Toyota Tacoma with a double cab, black side-view mirrors, a canopy and a dark, plastic bug screen mounted on the hood.

RCMP say the bug screen could have been removed, but would have damage on the passenger side and the passenger side mirror could either be damaged or recently replaced.

Last week, Rickman's family came forward to plead for the driver to turn him or herself in.

The 55-year-old father-of-two was struck from behind shortly before midnight on the Mary Hill Bypass near Kingsway Avenue.

The vehicle fled the scene, leaving Rickman on the road. He was unconscious when taken to hospital.

Police say Rickman has since emerged from intensive care, but remains in hospital.

They're asking anyone who may have seen anything to call 604-945-1550 and quote file: 2014-21316.
