Tim Hortons Duelling Donuts Contest Finalists Look Like Something Out Of Sugar Heaven

8 Doughnuts Canadians Could Look Forward To
Tim Hortons

You coffee's next companion could be one of these eight doughnuts below.

On Aug. 18, coffee-giant Tim Hortons will announce four finalists of their second annual Duelling Donuts contest, where Canadians had a chance to design their own doughnut.

This year's judging panel include actor Jason Priestley (again), musician Jann Arden, chef Anna Olson and TV host Ben Mulroney. Following this announcement, the public, a.k.a. you, will have a chance to crown the winner online.

With over 76,000 entries and a grand prize of $10,000, these eight finalists were chosen based on flavour, name and marketability. Last year The Tortoise Torte, a chocolate-pecan-caramel creation, won top prize after beating out The Oreo Borealis.

Fresh entries include a mix of cookie crumbs and dough, chocolaty icings and a ton of fondant. While we do have some details on what each doughnut is made up of, other things like calories and sugar content are still in the works.

May the best (and best tasting) doughnut win!
