KELOWNA, B.C. - An Edmonton woman has been identified as the person who fell to her death from a cliff while hiking in southeastern B.C.

The BC Coroners Service says 23-year-old Sarah Lamarche was hiking with a friend on Aug. 7 when she fell.

Lamarche had been working at Waterton Lakes National Park in southwestern Alberta.

The coroners' service says the woman and her friend began their hike in Alberta, but crossed into remote country in B.C.

The coroner says the woman was seen falling off the 150-metre cliff.

She was dead at the scene and her body was recovered by a Waterton Search and Rescue team.
