Drake Takes 'Ice Bucket Challenge' From Lil Wayne In Pittsburgh (VIDEO)

You Can Now Add Drake's Name To This List Of Celebs

After Lady Gaga, Iggy Azalea, Jennifer Lopez and Jon Bon Jovi accepted the "ice bucket challenge" in support of ALS research in the last few days you can now add Drake's name to the list.

The rapper accepted the dare Sunday night in Pittsburgh to close the concert, Gigwise reports. Fellow rapper Wiz Khalifa nominated the Canadian artist earlier this week, as did Montreal Canadiens' defenseman P.K. Subban. The dare features a bucket of ice water tossed over a person's head or donate to an ALS charity of their choice.

Drake opted for the former, enlisting the help of Lil Wayne — who is co-headlining a North American tour with Drake — to pick a plastic bin filled with ice water as Drake sits on stage. Lil Wayne then dumps the bucket over Drake's head before Drake stands up, wiping off his face with his soaked shirt.

As is custom with this challenge, the person who accepts the challenge then nominates people to do the same thing or give money to charity. Drake reportedly nominated Beyonce, who now has 24 hours to accept the challenge. An estimated $13.3 million has been raised for ALS research since the odd, but effective challenge began.

Neither Drake nor Lil Wayne commented on the challenge on their Twitter accounts.

Jon Bon Jovi reportedly took the challenge on Sunday as well, nominating his fellow band mates with two of them —drummer Tico Torres and keyboardist David Bryan — accepting the call. Torres then nominated Alice Cooper to take the challenge along with golfers Ernie Els and Tiger Woods. Bryan meanwhile nominated Gavin DeGraw and Ryan Cabrera.

Sadly, the challenge lost a key member yesterday when a friend of Pete Frates — who launched the "ice bucket challenge" — died during a celebration for raising $100,000 for ALS research. Global News reports Corey Griffin, 27, jumped from the top of a building on Nantucket Island into water early Saturday.

Police say Griffin was pronounced dead at the hospital after his body was pulled from the water by an off-duty life guard.
