There's no shortage of musicians who've accepted and had a little fun with the ALS ice bucket challenge. Lady Gaga's done it. So has Foo Fighter's Dave Grohl. Even Canada's Drake took part during one of his concert.
But few have hijacked the challenge, originally designed to raise funds and awareness for Lou Gehrig's disease, to renew a beef with a former professional boxing heavyweight like Floyd Mayweather.
That's unless you're 50 Cent. On Thursday, the rapper posted a video on his Facebook page calling out Mayweather.
WARNING: Some NSFW language in the video below.
"This is a special ASL/ELS challenge for you Floyd. If you can read one full page of a Harry Potter book n**ger, I'll give $750,000 to whatever charitable organization you want to. F**k the bucket of ice!" said the rapper, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson.
It's unclear if Jackson purposely bungled up the acronyms but that might be a jab at Mayweather who has called out rappers like Jackson and T.I. in the past, suggesting they've lost their relevance, Gawker points out.
As for the hate on the ice, that might be because of Jackson's own ALS ice bucket challenge, which he recorded on Instagram on Tuesday.
For the unfamiliar, the ice bucket challenge requires participants to dump a bucket of ice-cold weather over their head or donate $100 dollars to an ALS charity of their choice. Those who opt for the icy water then get to challenge three other people.
Sometimes known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, ALS is a neurodegenerative disease that targets nerve cells in the spinal cord and brain. It's a progressive disorder which eventually robs a person's ability to walk, talk and eat on their own, according to the CBC.
