Calgary Shuttle Taken For Joyride
Calgary Transit

One man is in custody after he allegedly took a Calgary shuttle bus for a joyride Wednesday night.

Police were called to the Foothills Medical Centre after a person was seen taking the wheel of an idling Calgary Transit shuttle outside the hospital. The driver was on a break at the time.

After a short search, the shuttle was found by police about two kilometres away, police say.

According to Duty Insp. Sgt. Dave Sweeting, the joyrider was a patient of the facility.

Charges are pending and an evaluation of the man's mental state is underway.
