The man wanted in connection with a shooting in Calgary over the weekend has been arrested several provinces away in Ontario.
Ulises Boris Quinteros, 51, was taken into custody in Kenora, Ont. early Monday morning, report several media outlets.
Police asked for the public's help Sunday after a woman in her 40s was shot multiple times in the Calgary suburb of Tuscany.
They were searching for a man believed to be armed and dangerous.
Officers responded to the scene of a car crash around 4 a.m. Sunday, where they found the woman suffering from serious injuries.
Investigators say they believe two vehicles were driving along Tuscany Springs Hill N.W. when one vehicle stuck the other.
The woman called 911 and was taken to hospital. She is in critical but stable condition.
Police say the suspect and victim are known to each other, but police have not commented on their relationship.
The victim is cooperating with police.
Calgary police confirm Quinteros has been charged with attempted murder, choking with intent, and break and enter, among other charges.
It is unclear at this point how Quinteros was so quickly able to get to Kenora, which is about 1500 kilometres east of Calgary.
