This Is How You Fix A Giant Hole On Highway 99

It was a giant hole that caused giant traffic headaches on the much-travelled Highway 99 in Richmond, B.C. last month.

First reported to be a sinkhole, it was actually a culvert that collapsed on the road northbound at the Bridgeport off-ramp.

While we all grumble about roadwork, especially in the summer, it was fascinating to see road crews working their magic in a photo set posted by B.C. Transportation on its Flickr page.

Crews had to de-water the area in order to do a thorough inspection before installing a new pipe, filling, and paving.

And look! Almost good as new!
