Bill Murray TIFF 2014: Actor Greets Fans In The Pouring Rain (VIDEO)

Bill Murray Is King Of TIFF

For TIFF fans, Bill Murray is Hollywood royalty, but even a performer of his stature wasn't above greeting them in the pouring rain.

The actor was soaked as he met with several waiting fans at Toronto's Princess of Wales Theatre, where his new film "St. Vincent" had its world premiere on Friday.

Not long after he arrived, he put on a crown and sash and held court as the King of TIFF.

The premiere marked the culmination of Bill Murray Day, an occasion which TIFF put on free screenings of his films "Stripes," "Groundhog Day" and "Ghostbusters" at the Bell Lightbox.

Fans were also encouraged to dress like characters from his films on Friday.

Murray even showed up at the theatre himself and serenaded an audience at the "Ghostbusters" screening.

He was king in movie fans' hearts already, but for one day, Murray ruled a city.
