Man Shot 3 Times While Carrying An Infant, Police Say

A man was shot three times while he was carrying an infant and walking with a group of women and children, police say.

The shooting occurred in the Pharmacy Avenue and Danforth Avenue area at 9 p.m. on Saturday.

Toronto police say the male victim was walking with four women, a child and two infants, when a suspect approached and shot him in the torso and abdomen.

The victim is alive, but there was no immediate word on his condition on Sunday. Police are conducting an attempted murder investigation.

The suspect fled the scene. He is described as a 30-year-old black male, who weighs 140 to 150 pounds and is between 5'8" and 5'9". He wore blue jeans, a dark-coloured hoodie and had a black handgun.
