Woman charged with sexual assault after home entered

A 38-year-old woman faces assault and sexual assault charges after police say tenants of a home in the Dundas Street West and McCaul Street area were threatened with pepper spray.

Police say the home was entered through an unlocked front door at around 3 a.m. Saturday.

A group of tenants were confronted and threatened with pepper spray, according to police.

Police also say a male tenant was sexually assaulted.

A 38-year-old woman was arrested and charged with:

- Unlawfully entering a dwelling.

- Three counts of assault with a weapon.

- Sexual assault.

- Possession prohibited weapon.

The woman is scheduled to make a court appearance on Monday.

Police believe there may be more victims.

In a news release about the incident, police wanted to remind the public — particularly college and university students — about the importance of securing their residence at all times.
