St-Leonard hit-and-run injures pedestrian

A man in his 50s was rushed to hospital this morning after he was struck by a truck on Provencher Boulevard and dragged for several metres.

Montreal police said the truck was headed south of Provencher when it struck the man at the corner of Jean Talon Street at around 5:30 a.m.

The truck then took off.

Police said they are still investigating, but have not identified the vehicle involved or the driver.

Const. François Collard said it's possible the truck driver did not realize the man had been hit.

Investigators are looking for security footage from businesses in the area to get a better description of the truck.

The injured man remains in hospital.
