Metro's yellow line closed this weekend

The Montreal Metro’s yellow line is out of service this weekend for maintenance and repairs.

Work to repair and reinforce the line’s tunnels will see the Montreal-Longueuil line shut down almost every weekend until December 21, with the exception of September 27 and 28 when it will be open for the Montreal Marathon.

Transit users have three bus options at their disposal as alternatives to the yellow line:

- 804 Longueuil - Papineau Metro - Berri-UQAM Metro shuttle

- 820 Longueuil - Jean-Drapeau shuttle;

- 877 Berri-UQAM - Papineau - Jean-Drapeau - Montreal Casino shuttle

People trying to get to La Ronde on Saturdays and Sundays can take the 769 shuttle at Papineau Metro station.

Repairs to the yellow line started last March but stopped for the summer in order to accommodate crowds attending summer events at Parc Jean-Drapeau.

The $10-million repairs involve fixing small cracks in the tunnel’s roof and electrical work.
