Pop star Iggy Azalea has found herself in the center of an alleged sex tape which is reportedly being shopped to a major adult film production company.
Last Thursday, Vivid head Steven Hirsch told TMZ he saw some footage of the video and it appeared to feature Azalea with a former boyfriend. Hirsch also stated he was attempting to contact Azalea and her representatives to negotiate a "multi-million dollar deal" for the tape.
"I believe there would be a huge demand for her sex tape," Hirsch said in a statement on Vivid's official site, adding he saw a "teaser" of the tape. "Iggy has proved that she's an amazing talent. If there is any tape out there that can rival that of Kim Kardashian, this one is it! We are conducting our due diligence and if we are satisfied with our review, we will definitely try to make a deal to distribute the tape."
Azalea's representatives initially said they wouldn't negotiate with Hirsch as they didn't believe it was Azalea on the tape. They also stated they would take legal action over the footage. However, a legal team representing the 24-year-old singer said there's a possibility that it is in fact Azalea on the tape, according to TMZ. If it is her on the tape however, her legal team suggested she may have been a minor (under 18 years of age) when it was shot.
Azalea's lawyers told TMZ the tape might have been made "without her knowledge or consent" and the tape is simply the actions of a "spurned business suitor" trying to tarnish Azalea's name while also reaping a huge gain financially from Vivid. In addition to the age question, the tape could not be legally released without Azalea's permission.
On Thursday, Azalea took to her Twitter account to explain the situation while also demanding the laws be changed regarding privacy.
