Police look for ties in separate Best Buy break-ins

Police are investigating two separate break-ins at Best Buy electronics stores in Oakville and west Toronto.

In Toronto, police say the lock was broken and the sliding doors were forced open at the front of the store. Police received the call on Sunday night at 10:36 p.m. for the break-in at the Best Buy Store in an Etobicoke strip mall near Highway 27 and The Queensway.

Investigators say a large quantity of electronic goods was stolen and that video surveillance at the scene shows several suspects and vehicles were involved.

Men entered the Best Buy by knocking off the locks to the front sliding doors, went inside, and left with a large quantity of Apple products, police say.

There was "a similar entry" on the same night at a Best Buy in Oakville and investigators are trying to determine whether the two incidents are connected.

Anyone with information about either incident is being asked to contact Toronto police, Halton regional police or Crime Stoppers.
