Montreal police are asking potential victims of sexual assault to come forward, after a man was recently arrested and faces sexual assault-related charges.

Moussa Ouassel, 27, was arrested on Sept. 10 and charged with sexual assault, assault with a weapon and aggravated assault.

Police have been searching for Ouassel since the spring, when a couple was allegedly attacked.

Investigators said that on April 20, at 3:30 a.m. the couple was walking in Montreal’s north-end neighbourhood of Ahuntsic.

The two — a woman and a man —  were allegedly attacked from behind.

Police say the man was punched until he lost consciousness, and the woman was allegedly taken to a nearby wooded area and assaulted.

Investigators with the Major Crimes unit say they have reason to believe there may be more victims.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or go to their local police station.
