Student, 19, charged in Oshawa campus stabbing

A 19-year-old student faces charges of aggravated assault and assault with a weapon after a stabbing at a college in Oshawa on Wednesday that sent a 22-year-old student to hospital.

The stabbing happened at a coffee shop on the campus of Durham College/University of Ontario Institute of Technology. Police received a report about an altercation between two male students at 4:30 p.m.

A male suspect fled the scene while the victim was taken to hospital suffering from injuries police described as being life-threatening.

On Friday, police said the victim remains in hospital in stable condition and is recovering from his injuries.
