Four police cars hit by suspected drunk driver on Laval highway

A suspected drunk driver drove into four police cars stopped on the side of Highway 25 in Laval early Sunday morning.

The four police cars were involved in another traffic investigation when the incident occurred.

The 19-year-old driver missed the signs that a police operation was taking place ahead of him and plowed into the parked squad cars.

Two officers received minor injuries in the collision.

The driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries, and blood samples were taken to determine if he was under the influence of alcohol.

The four police cars belonged to the Sûretédu Québec and Terrebonne police.

A section of Highway 25 in Laval was closed between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. as police investigated the incident.
