Jonathan Drouin to miss 3-4 weeks with fractured thumb

Tampa Bay Lightning forward Jonathan Drouin will be sidelined for the next 3-4 weeks with a fractured right thumb, the team confirmed.

Drouin, who was held out of training camp on the weekend, fell on his hand after getting bumped last Thursday, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

Drafted with the third overall pick in 2013, Drouin played for the QMJHL’s Halifax Mooseheads last season.

The 19-year-old centre scored 29 goals and 108 points for the Mooseheads, while adding another 41 points in the playoffs.

Drouin took part in the 2014 world junior championship tournament for Canada, scoring three goals and six assists in seven games.
