A 55-year-old Nun’s Island resident faces charges of dangerous driving causing death and leaving the scene of an accident in connection with a fatal hit-and-run in the Côte-des-Neiges neighbourhood last Friday.

Police said a BMW attempted a left turn from Victoria Avenue onto St. Kevin Avenue and collided with a taxi around 10:30 p.m.

The BMW's driver fled the scene on foot after the violent collision, which killed a 46-year-old woman riding in the taxi.

Witness statements helped police locate the man, who was arrested Tuesday and is expected to appear in court today.
