Your 40s are no longer a time in life where you have to slow down.

Women are increasingly pushing back against the outdated idea that they should fade into the background as they age, and we’re all better off for it. This is proven by actresses like Tina Fey (44) and Amy Poehler (43), writers like Roxane Gay (40 this year), and public figures like Sheryl Sandberg (45) who all show us 40 is just as youthful as being 20 again.

But that being said, getting older brings about its own set of problems. Your 40s can sometimes be hard, emotionally and practically: you can’t ignore those retirement savings anymore and it’s normal to look back on our lives and reassess when we hit milestone birthdays.
