CALGARY - It may have been the stuff of action movies, but Calgary police say there were no serious injuries when a car slammed into a duplex and caught fire.

Acting Det. Jack Russell says officers saw the vehicle miss an intersection, flip and come to rest leaning up against the building.

Russell says the vehicle immediately caught fire and the driver was trapped.

Officers broke the window and pulled the driver clear.

They also alerted people inside the duplex to get out, but residents were allowed to return once fire crews doused the blaze.

Impaired driving charges are expected.
