SASKATOON - Some Saskatoon residents set up their own contest to name a new bridge after a city report said it would need $30,000 to do it.

The group behind the OurYXE podcast launched www.namethatbridge.ca, a site where Saskatoon residents can submit ideas for the Circle Drive South bridge.

The group said in a release Wednesday that it took 10 minutes and $20 to launch the website.

Submissions will be accepted during the nomination phase of the project and then residents will be able to vote for their favourite nominations.

Final results will be forwarded to the city and city council.

The group said it's looking forward to reviewing ideas from the public and encourage everyone to submit a name.
