A teen has been charged in connection to a double shooting in Toronto last week.

The unnamed 17-year-old has been charged with attempted murder after two students were killed near an Etobicoke school on Oct. 6, Global News reports.

Zaid Athir Youssef, 17 and Michael Menjivar, 15, died after they were shot outside the School of Experiential Education.

The accused, who can't be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is also facing charges of pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, possession of a firearm without a valid license, possession of a firearm without a permit and failing to comply with a court order, according to CP24.

Police have released security camera images of persons of interest. This is the first arrest cops have made in the investigation.
